Frequently asked questions.

1. What does a baby sleep consultant do?

A baby sleep consultant provides expert guidance and personalized strategies to help your baby (and you!) get better sleep. We assess your child’s sleep habits, create a tailored plan, and support you as you implement changes for healthier, more consistent sleep.

2. At what age can I start sleep training my baby?

We typically recommend starting gentle sleep coaching around 4 to 6 months of age, when babies are developmentally able to self-soothe. However, we can work with families of newborns using age-appropriate techniques and help lay a solid foundation for sleep early on.

3. Is sleep training the same as letting my baby “cry it out”?

Not at all. There are many sleep training methods, ranging from very gentle approaches to more structured routines. We work with your parenting style and comfort level to choose a method that suits your family. Crying may happen, but we never recommend abandoning your baby to cry alone.

4. How long does it take to see results?

Every baby is different, but most families see significant improvements within 1 to 2 weeks of consistent implementation. Some babies respond even faster, while others need more time and support.

5. Do I have to stop night feedings?

No, not necessarily. If your baby still needs night feeds based on their age and nutritional needs, we incorporate those into the sleep plan. We help reduce unnecessary waking while keeping essential feeds in place.

6. Can you help with naps as well as nighttime sleep?

Absolutely. Naps are a vital part of your baby’s sleep schedule. We create a full 24-hour plan that includes nap timing, duration, and environment to support restful days and nights.

7. What if my baby is teething, sick, or going through a regression?

We account for all of these situations in your plan. While some sleep disruptions are inevitable, we provide strategies to manage them and help get sleep back on track quickly when challenges arise.

8. Is your method safe for my baby?

Yes. We only use safe, evidence-based, developmentally appropriate sleep practices. Your baby’s well-being, emotional needs, and safety are our top priorities.

9. What makes your service different from reading a book or blog?

Books and blogs offer general advice, but we provide a personalised plan based on your baby’s unique needs and your parenting style. Plus, you get one-on-one support and troubleshooting that you can’t get from a book.

10. How much does sleep consulting cost?

We offer different packages to suit varying needs and budgets. Please visit our services page or contact us directly to find the right fit for your family.

11. What should I expect during the consultation process?

The process typically includes:

  • An intake form to understand your child’s current sleep patterns

  • A 30–60 minute consultation to discuss strategies

  • A personalised sleep plan

  • Follow-up support via phone, email, or messaging to help you implement the plan

12. Can I still co-sleep or breastfeed and sleep train?

Yes, it’s possible to maintain breastfeeding or co-sleeping, depending on your goals. We can work with your preferences to improve sleep without sacrificing your values.
